As most of my readers know, I serve as Forum Director of SharperIron, a Christian Fundamentalist blog and forum. The site is currently undergoing technical difficulties related to our database server. The site leadership had a conference call today to organize our plans to get things back up (more details soon!). Anyway, Jason Janz’s wife, Jennifer, had an observation that we found amusing:
With SharperIron down for nearly a week, we might just see a surge in Fundamental church nurseries in nine months!
We’ll have to see if she’s onto something here!

My wife and I have children over 21, so our days of little ones are pretty much over (man, am I really that old?!).
I have been so blessed by the SharperIron ministry the past three months, I’m having withdrawls (”haha!”, 2nd half sentence only!).
BTW, congrats, Mrs Linscott on your Praxis! I teach AEL/GED for the Independence, MO schools, and sometimes use what I have read on SharperIron as a witness to some of my students who have been receptive to the Gospel. It is really wonderful to be able to teach in an adult setting away from the structure of mainstream schools, that things of God are definitely able to be discussed (in fact, many are so dysfunctional in their life which is why they come to my class in the first place: seeking).
Sorry, Greg, didn’t want to get too longwinded, but your ministry is truly a blessing to me. I miss it!!! Let me know if you need assistance, my son is an absolute genius in computers, he may have some advice. I think you have my email address. Anytime! God bless you all!

Don’t apologize, Dale. Glad to have you- stop by anytime!
Thanks for the kind words and encouragement- glad to know we have been a blessing to you. May Christ be exalted.

So are you saying that I should be thankful for Sharperiron because, in a way, it’s preventing the reproduction of “young fundamentalists”?

Well, I for one am still childless, so Sharper Image…uh, I mean Sharper Iron must not have had that much of an influence on my wife and me!
BTW, I just found this site!

Haha! As you know, I don’t post on Sharper Iron anymore, but I have a few good friends who do. The “crash” really took a toll on them and, from the posts that I read, most people just stared at the countdown….waiting….
I especially feel for Dan Miller…heartbreaker.
